I admit it: I’m a gear junkie—and I’m proud of it.
After encountering an example of gelli printing (gelatin plate, paint, stencils and mark making tools),  somewhere in my online wanderings, I fell headfirst into a rabbit hole I have yet to climb out of. When faced with this - a challenging photography project, I decided to draw from the newly acquired huge pile of tools, using it as the foundation for a series of black-and-white still life shots.
I converted my apartment into a collection of makeshift studios—who really needs an extra bathroom anyway—and began shooting. I experimented freely with tools, lighting, and focal lengths, producing a dozen images that move from gelli printing tools, to actual painting tools, to drawing implements, and finally to charcoal.
In the process of following that curiosity wherever it led, I may have sacrificed some of the visual consistency that comes from committing to a single focal length and style of photograph. What emerged instead is a body of work shaped by exploration—an inventory of tools, processes, and impulses that reflects the winding path of discovery itself.
